The light from the day was fading quickly, leaving the forest in a shroud of darkness. It was damp and contained beneath the boughs of the trees and yet that never seemed to bother the boy who moved swiftly through the untamed area. The blonde mop of hair atop his head was touseled and a little knotted, his pale face marred with a small insignificant scratch on his forehead and a smudge of dirt on his cheek. His eyes were alive though, the blue sparkling with the thrill of the exploration.
Cassius Aldridge is a teenager who's curious and not at all cautious personality often has him wandering into places without really thinking about further consequences. He never once bothered to think that he may get lost, he never thought he might get hurt. All he cared about was perhaps finding something in the forest that nobody else had found before. His imagination runsa little too wildly for somebody of his age. Something that can be both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because he hasn't lost the serene naiviety of youth and a curse because that very attribute may one day be his downfall.
Luckily the snow that had been falling for the past few days hadn't really gathered all too much in the area, but the boughs ahead were heavy with drifts of the stuff that threatened to fall onto his head at the slightest of bumps. He was being careful though, his steps sure and his unusual grace carrying him over roots and beneath hanging branches all too swiftly. He's a country kid. Born in the countryside and grew up in the same place, he feels uncomfortable in large cities, it's always too loud. Far too much for his liking anyway. Too many people as well. Crowds freak him out a little.
Finally he came to a stop deep within the forest, resting his butt against the rough trunk of one of the thicker trees. A few flakes of snow fell to the floor, not drifting down but dropping like large tear drops. He didn't seem to notice, instead he was far too busy pulling out a cigarette from a packet with his lips. The packet was shoved back into his pocket, his hand coming back to his lips with a lighter, the flame already lit and flickering on the end of the white tube. He inhaled deeply, a chest full of smoke and a light sigh came from his mouth as he inhaled. He needed his fix. To the point where it was just ridiculous. He knew he needed to quit, he just lacked the will power.
He raised an eyebrow, eyes a little wide at the sudden noise to his left hand side. His head turned towards whatever it was, not entirely sure what he would find nor whom for that matter. There were people taking a walk this far out? Who?

Aundrea and Tomasio had decided to take one of their daily walks in the woods. Lucky for them, they had changed once they were fairly close to the boarder of the forest to avoid being seen. It was cold and Aundrea had her jacket wrapped around her tiny frame. She was more sensitive to the cold, an she always had to make sure she was as warm as possible.
As they walked, she caught a wiff of cigarette smoke. Trying to not cough, she searched the area till she found Cassius. A playfull smile formed of her lips and she quietly made her way to the tree by which he was standing. She raised a gust of wind, letting it go past him then jumped next to him. "So why are you out in the woods at this hour, there are things I wouldnt want to run into" She said questioning him

As the gust of wind blew past his own lithe form he scrunched up his eyes in an effort to protect them from anything that would have been picked up and lodged itself in them. He hates the way it feels when there's something in your eye, he doesn't like the fact that even though it sometimes doesn't hurt, they still water and water until it looks like you've been crying for a few hours. It's distasteful. Luckily though he was saved this time round by his own miraculous reflexes.
He completely forgot about his cigarette for a moment, letting it burn slowly within his fingers as the voice that he heard made a smile immediately curve at his lips, "you mean big scary animals with sharp, pointy teeth?" He asked mockingly, rolling in his eyes. Cassius never, ever really believes that he could ever get into danger, possibly another one of his major flaws which could maybe be the death of him one day. He's safe today though, "purlease," he added with quiet laughter, his eyes shining with mirth, "give me some credit, i'm blonde, not completely stupid."
He loved being close, if not best friends with Aundrea. He watched the way that some people spoke to her, so careful about what they said and here was Cassius acting, at times, like a complete idiot and being accepted as normal, "anyway," he drawled teasingly, a grin curving across his lips, "what're you doing here, Aundrea? And," he paused for just a split second, giving him time to adopt a mock pout, "where's my hug?"

Aundrea smiled and gave him a huge hug. "Better?" She asked. Aundrea and Cassius had a brother sister relationship, and he was one of the people in her life that she cared most about, if needed, she would defend, or even kill for him. "Just taking a midnight stroll, nothing to special." Aundea had to be sure that she never revealed her secret, even if it was just Cassius who would most likely find out himself soon enough.
Tomasio had gone back to the dorm, as to avoid more questions, even though most of the rumors would be far from the truth, it was easier to keep everything quiet. "Most people dont come into these woods, expecially at this hour, so whats really going on?" It had to be something pretty important for a human to come out here.
